Hydrogen Infusion Machines (HIM’s): A Better Water Ionizer

Over the past 7 years, I have written hundreds of articles about the benefits of drinking water with a focus on alkaline water in particular. It turns out that the benefits that I have spoken about over the years were due to the presence of hydrogen gas (aka molecular hydrogen or H2), and had virtually nothing to do with alkaline water.

The first hint that hydrogen gas might be the source of the benefits was first published in 2007 but went unnoticed by everyone except for scientists. In fact, the first time I heard about hydrogen gas was from Korean engineers in 2010 when I was visiting alkaline water ionizer factories.

As you might imagine, it was quite a shock to me when the American scientist Tyler LeBaron took me under his wing and started teaching me about hydrogen a couple of years ago. Tyler is brilliant and he demonstrated a great deal of patience with me as I baby-stepped my way through the science. The experience of “unlearning” the alkaline water myths was humbling to say the least.  I am in debt to and very grateful for the efforts of those who have contributed to my “awakening” and ongoing education.

It always bothered me that the scientific and medical communities never endorsed and in fact scoffed at the claims made by the alkaline water industry. The good news is that there has been a massive amount of legitimate scientific research conducted and published that support the benefits of hydrogen gas and we have only seen the tip of the iceberg.

Hydrogen Infusion Machines (HIM’s): A Better Water Ionizer:

It makes me a little uncomfortable talking about the best of anything.  Most of the product ratings that I have seen online are nothing more than self-serving marketing efforts.  Whenever I talked about the various brands of alkaline water ionizers, I always maintained that they were all very similar in performance because they were.

The introduction of the new hydrogen machines (HIM’s) makes declaring a “winner” easy because they are massively superior to every brand of alkaline water ionizers when it comes to producing high concentrations of dissolved hydrogen in the water that you drink.  In addition, the HIM’s produce H2 at high levels of concentration across a wide spectrum of source water conditions which is the bane of the existence of alkaline water ionizers.

Alkaline water ionizers have always been plagued by soft water (the alkaline machines don’t produce hydrogen without minerals in the source water) and hard water (the high pH produced by the machines causes calcium in the source water to precipitate out of the water causing scaling on the plates which renders the alkaline water ionizers useless in terms of producing dissolved hydrogen).

The HIM’s don’t rely upon minerals in the source water to create hydrogen. The HIM’s have a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) that conducts electricity via a Solid Polymer Electrolyte (SPE). You are probably thinking: “What the heck does that mean?”.  In simple terms, the HIM’s perform electrolysis on one drop of water at a time on the anode side of the water cell and then the protons make their way through the membrane to the anode side where the hydrogen gas is made. Simple huh! Let’s try that again. Instead of having all the water pass by plates in a water cell which is what happens in alkaline water machines, the process in a HIM is much more sophisticated and doesn’t rely upon the source water regardless of whether your water is hard or soft.

Unlike the very basic single electrolysis chamber found in alkaline water ionizers, the HIM’s have three separate compartments within the water cell. The first compartment performs nano-filtration which rejects the calcium and magnesium in the source water and bypasses that water past the 2nd compartment where the electrolysis process happens. Bypassing the calcium and magnesium means the plates in the electrolysis chamber don’t get scaled up and become useless for producing hydrogen. The water that bypasses the electrolysis component, moves directly to the 3rd compartment (HDU) where the hydrogen gas produced by electrolysis in the 2nd compartment gets infused into the water. Easy Peasy right? Well, not really. Let’s try this again. When water passes through a water cell of an alkaline water ionizer, calcium precipitates out of the source water which gums up the system preventing it from producing dissolved hydrogen. With a HIM, that doesn’t happen.

In my opinion, the real magic of the HIM takes place in the 3rd stage (labelled HDU or Hydrogen Diffusion Unit) of the water cell. The HDU dissolves the hydrogen gas produced by electrolysis in the 2nd stage. Alkaline water ionizers can produce lots of hydrogen gas by electrolysis, but they don’t have a mechanism to dissolve the hydrogen gas into the water. The HIM’s actually create hydrogen in the water which is the whole point of the exercise.

It is difficult to quantify exactly how much better HIM units are than alkaline water ionizers because HIM’s diffuse H2 (which is responsible for all of the health benefits) into the drinking water while alkaline water ionizers create lots of H2 but lose most if not all of the H2 into the air before you ever get a chance to consume the H2.  Suffice it to say that the HIM’s are in a totally different class than alkaline water ionizers when it comes to producing H2…..which is the entire point of owning a water machine.

Comparing costs:

The leading brand (Enagic) of alkaline water ionizers offers a range of water ionizers but their two most popular units cost $4,000 and $5,000.  Most of the competing brands of alkaline water ionizers sell in the $2,500 to $3,000 range.

The HIM’s were initially priced at the $2,500 level to compete with the alkaline machines.  However, after a short period of time, the HIM’s seemed to find a price level of $2,000.

My personal favorite HIM units are the HIM2 and HIM3 sold by Brilliantz. A couple of years ago, I was invited to join a group of the top H2 people in the USA to test and improve a new prototype of an ionizer that reintroduced the H2 created at the cathode during electrolysis back into the water. The group were a “who’s who” of the H2 industry and I felt that I didn’t have the credentials to be part of the group but I was thrilled to be able to participate. ere not up to par with the rest of the group, but I’m was grateful to be part of it. The group made 4 significant changes to the prototypes to make them more reliable and efficient, and I have been a fan ever since.

Things took a massive turn for the better last week for H2 consumers.  Brilliantz decided to change their business model from an affiliate network to selling directly to the public.  Brilliantz stopped paying commissions and dropped the price of all of their H2 products by 50%. That means the best HIM units in the industry are now selling for $1,040 including shipping. They also sell a really cool portable H2 unit (called the GO) for $160 and a month’s supply of magnesium tablets which create H2 when placed in water for $30.  All of their H2 products produce therapeutic concentrations of H2. You can save an additional 5% if you enter their website via www.brilliantz.com/discount/waterfyi and enter “waterfi” in the coupon code box when checking out.

The change in business strategy is a risky move for Brilliantz because there is no longer any incentive for salespeople to tell the story. That leaves it up to the H2 “do-gooders” and happy customers to spread the word.  Check them out!

  1. Greetings!

Greatly appreciate all your hard work in your research. Very informative!

Water is pretty much the only liquid I consume and I have been drinking only distilled water for the last year. I’ve just uncovered how bad this is for us! Quite shocking to be honest.

I’ve dabbled in Kagen via a friend and would love to try your recommendation for H2FX Xcell machine but unfortunately I can not afford these types of pricey machines.

What is the best water option for someone on a very, very tight budget? Britta? lol 😉

    Thank you!
    Cynthia Bruck

    • Hi Cynthia:

For years, I was intent on driving the price of good water products down because paying thousands of dollars for water seems unnatural even if you can afford it.

My recent switch in thinking towards recommending a $2,500 product took a lot of self reflection. The bottom line for me is getting the BEST water. That definitely doesn’t mean the most expensive water. Once I discovered hydrogen, it really just became a matter of finding a product that actually does what it says it does and that is how I ended up choosing the H2FX Xcell.

There hydrogen tablets are also a great source of H2 and they only cost $60 per bottle which is a lot less painful. However, when you realize that it costs $60 per person per month for the tablets, they end up being very expensive for a family over time. For example, a family of 4 could pay for an Xcell in just over ten months of buying the tablets. I still like the tablets, but for me, they are more suited to situations such as for work or the gym or for travel.

It is interesting that you suggested a Brita pitcher. Check out http://www.vyvwater.com as they have Brita compatible replacement filters that make alkaline water and also produce therapeutic concentrations of H2 if you rinse vinegar through the filter once per week. A three pack of VYVwater filters will last 6-9 months and cost about $50. The VYVwater filters don’t have the same convenience as the Xcell, but for less than $100 per year, they are a great “poor man’s” solution to obtain H2

  2. Finally ordered my Xcell unit. Should be arriving next. Look forward to using it!

    • Hi Shameer:

Let us know how you like it. Your feedback will be appreciated.

I imagine there are a lot of readers who are watching and waiting.

      • Hi Rob,

I finally got a chance to set up my Xcell unit today. I did the break-in by flushing out about 5L of water before drinking my first glass. What I noticed was a lot of white fizz, like a formation of cloudy bubbles which dissipated after a few seconds. Did you or do you still notice this on your unit? I also notice a lot of bubbles on the side of the glass

        • Hi Shameer:

I answered you email to me but I will also answer here as others may want to know the answer.

When you first start your HIM, you will see what you call a lot of “white fizz”. What you are seeing are hydrogen bubbles. That is a good thing because it means your machine is producing a lot of hydrogen. As you use the machine more, you will notice that the bubbles “white fizz” no longer appear. That doesn’t mean that you machine doesn’t work anymore. It actually means your machine has moved passed its “break-in” period and is now operating efficiently. The HIM is vastly superior to alkaline water ionizers in many ways. One of the ways that the HIM is superior is that it incorporates a Hydrogen Diffusion Unit “HFU” in the third part of its water chamber. The HDU infuses the hydrogen created during electrolysis and infuses it into the water which is a feature that alkaline water ionizers are unable to do. When you think about it, the goal is to drink the hydrogen, not to have it wasted by losing it into the air.

When you see your machine is no longer producing the “white fizz”, you will know your machine is operating at peak efficiency as it was meant to do.

          • Hi Rob,

Thanks for the prompt & detailed reply. Do you know, on average, how long it takes for the white fizz to disappear?

    who is the original?

    • Hi WK:

It looks like the same unit to me.

I believe H2FX found the unit in Asia and brought it to America. I was fortunate to be part of the Beta testing of the unit. There were a number of serious flaws that a group of hydrogen geeks worked on until they fixed every problem that they could find. I suspect the manufacturer will have incorporated all of the changes as the manufacturer was part of the process.

I have been involved in a number of product development projects over the years….it is amazing how popular you can be when you don’t charge for your work and then you can write about the results if they are good :)

  4. Hello,

How doe H2FX XCell compare to Radiant Life 14-Stage Biocompatible Water Purification System – http://www.radiantlifecatalog.com/product/radiant-life-14-stage-water-purification-system/drinking-water-systems and their Whole House Filtration – Series 6 system – http://www.radiantlifecatalog.com/product/whole-house-filtration-series-6/whole-house-systems-filters or any of the Aquasana – http://www.aquasana.com/ products?

Also, is it sufficient to get H2FX XCell as the only product for my whole family’s daily drinking water needs at home or do I need to buy an RO system from some other company first then use the filtered water from RO system in H2FX XCell system to ionize it then drink that?

    Thanks.

    • Hi J:

The H2FX Xcell is a hydrogen infustion machine. It’s primary function is to produce hydrogen dissolved in water. The Xcell has what I consider to be state of the art filters in it. That means they remove pretty much anything from municipally supplied water that anyone would ever have to worry about. After saying that, the Xcell filters are not designed to be “absolute” filters like an RO system. Anyone that has a water supply with life threatening contaminants in it should have a RO system.

The links that you sent are for filters. They both offer a degree of contaminant removal but neither are RO systems. Business’ use varying strategies to scare people or sway people to buy their products.

The answer is really quite simple….if your drinking water is dangerous, get a RO system. If your drinking water has fluoride or lead or mercury, get a filter that removes that stuff.

      • In terms of chlorine, do you know what percentage the HIM2 can filter from municipal tap water? Is it above 90%? 95?

        • Hi Shameer:

Below are the specs of the second filter from the American manufacturer of the fluoride filter. Note that the first filter is a carbon block filter designed to remove chlorine.

          >98.5% Chloramine reduction – Reduces the combinations of chloramine, monochloramine, and ammonia – 3ppm challenge test
          >99% Chlorine reduction
          >98.2% Lead reduction
          >99% Herbicides and Pesticides reduction
          >98% VOC’s reduction
          >98% Glyphosate reduction
          >98% Pharmaceutical compounds reduction
          >98% Heavy metals reduction
          >98% THM’s (Trihalomethanes) reduction
          >95% Chromium reduction
          >90% Nitrates reduction
          >85% Fluoride reduction – All types – Fluorosilicic acid/hydrofluorosilicate, sodium fluorosilicate and sodium fluoride

          • Great information! Thanks.

  5. Hi Rob,

I was going to do some research on Ionized Water Machine until I found your blog and learn about hydrogen infustion machine, now i’m interested to buy a HIM. I’m in Australia and want to get a HIM here for more easy warranty, I only found https://www.alkaway.com.au/shop/ultrastream/ doing this, are they similar compare to H2FX Xcell? Because the price is much much more lower compare to H2FX Xcell and I’m afraid they are not the same. Any suggestion?

    Cheers

    • Hi Joe:

The HIM machine from H2FX (www.H2HX.com) is a totally different machine and far, far superior than the UltraStream from Alkaway. Any attempt to say they are similar would be far from the truth.

The HIM is a real hydrogen machine which consistently produces high levels of H2 across a wide spectrum of source water. The HIM achieves this by making H2 from one drop of water at a time on the cathode side of the Proton Exchange Membrane in the electrolysis chamber. The HIM infuses the hydrogen gas made at the cathode into the water supply before the hydrogen rich water exits the machine.

The UltraStream produces hydrogen gas by the reaction of water to magnesium inside the UltraStream filter. While the reaction of water with magnesium does produce small amounts of hydrogen, it only works for a very short time. The reason for this is that during the reaction, a byproduct of the reaction is magnesium hydroxide. The magnesium hydroxide will immediately begin to form layers on the elemental magnesium which impedes the future creation of H2. You can think of this process like the layers of onion skin in an onion. Each time water touches the magnesium, another layer of “onion skin” is formed which will likely shut down the ability to produce much or any H2 within days or a week or two. Every magnesium-based water machine MUST be cleaned with a weak acid (citric acid or acetic acid often which is big pain in the butt. That is why Japan, which is the epicenter of the Hydrogen Industry, does not allow the sale of magnesium based products for the production of H2.

    • Hi Joe:

Geez. I didn’t see your comment. Sorry for not replying to you.

Check out http://www.tryh2.brilliantz.com to see the new GO unit that they offer. It is a portable hydrogen generator that creates about 1.3 ppm of hydrogen if you run it for one cycle (5-7 minutes) or about 2.5 ppm if you run it twice. The unit uses the newest PEM on the market which is why it performs so much better than other PEM unit and the non-PEM units (which are pretty useless). At a price of US$300, it is by far the best low cost hydrogen generator on the market. An American company called Young Living just starting offering an inferior unit (it produces 0.5 to 0.9 ppm of hydrogen) for US$460 and other units in Asia sell for $500 or more.

  6. Are you associated with this company in any way? Do you receive anything for this endorsement? Good website, thanks.

    • Hi Patrick:

I have signed up as a Branch Affiliate which sells the HIM2 (formerly called H2FX).

I have always disliked MLM (Mulit Level Marketing) companies for many reasons…..they charge way too much so that they can pay commissions to a pile of layers of people that don’t have anything to do with the sale…..and worst of all, they don’t provide proper education to their Affiliates which means the Affiliates are left on their own which inevitably leads to BS (Bad Science)

I joined Brilliantz because they are Brilliant. They only sell the best products. They charge fair prices (equal to or lower than the prices charged by regular sales channels such as retail stores). The have a tremendous education system for their Affiliates and they stick to the science. They are not MLM which means that only the people involved in the sale make money. They offer real people the opportunity to build a real company for themselves. I really like one of their marketing slogans which is “you work for yourself, not by yourself” as we all want autonomy but a little (or a lot) or help from your friends comes in really handy.

If the above sounds to you like I’m drinking the Brilliantz koolaid, you would be correct. If I ever stop feeling that way, you can be sure I will let everyone know right away.

  7. After drinking water from the Xcell the last few days, I’ve noticed a big change in my digestion. Is this something you or others have noticed as well when starting out?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Shameer:

My wife, like many women, has always had issues with constipation. Once she started drinking the water, she noticed an improvement.

  8. Rob,

Any reason why the Brilliantz website lacks information on who the engineers are behind the product, and where it’s manufactured?

It sounds like a great product, but looking at the About Us pages, it leaves much to wonder if they are legit.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    • Hi Dave:

I’m aware of the information that you are seeking, but it is definitely not my place to speak on behalf of the company. Perhaps you might want to pick up the phone and call the company to see if they are willing to share proprietary information with you. In all my years of testing and working on machines for many companies and then writing about it, I have never had anyone ask about the engineers involved in the development of a machine or technology. It feels to me like you have an agenda, so why don’t you just say what you want to say.

As someone who has had the privilege of being involved with the testing and redevelopment of the HIM2 machine at the request of the company, I can offer my personal opinion. The technology for the HIM2 and the soon to be announced HIM3,are pretty spectacular in my opinion. The units that I first looked at about a year and a half ago had great technology but the setup and delivery system left a lot to be desired. The guys who offer the HIM units went to a great deal of effort to test and tear apart and rebuild the original unit a number of times to get it right so that they final product properly served the brilliance of the technology. There are other offerings on the market that look similar, but they didn’t do the work and they are now paying the price in the form of unhappy customers.

      • HIM3? Any estimate time frame on when it’ll get announced?

        • Hi Shameer:

I got one of the original test units sent to me and it is being installed right now. That is extremely good news for me as my wife has been bugging me about getting the under counter unit ever since I mentioned it to her. She liked the HIM2 test unit that we got about a year ago but our kitchen sink is located in an island and our tap has a pull our sprayer so the HIM2 setup was not ideal.

      • Rob,
Sorry if it came off that I have an agenda. I don’t. I was in the “too good to be true” phase. I was about to spend $3,000 to purchase the Vesta H2, and I am now looking at purchasing the HIM2 instead. I see there are other companies that have a similar looking unit. So I am just absorbing all of this information, and trying to make the right decision as I am looking to purchase the most expensive unit.
        Thanks,
        Dave

        • Heh Dave:

No problem. I have been writing this blog for 7 years now and many people post comments here which are thinly disguised attempts to promote their products. I try to weed out posts that don’t appear to add any value. In the case of the HIM machines, I’m probably a bit sensitive because there has been a bit of a tug-of-war going on in Korea about who owns what and who has rights to what. It is reminiscent of the bad old days when KYK and EOS were battling back and forth in court about who had the rights to an alkaline water ionizer.

The history of the HIM2 is a bit complicated. There was a group of 5 or 6 companies in Korea that worked together on a hydrogen generator a couple of years ago. Each of the companies contributed parts. An American based MLM company decided to try out the machine and ordered 100 units with the stated intention of purchasing 5,000 units upon the completion of a successful test. One of the Korean companies ordered in parts and began building 5,000 chambers without the order being final.

Well, the units that the MLM company bought were a disaster. My understanding is that all of the customers that purchased the machines returned them as they were defective. Not surprisingly, the MLM company did not follow through with their order of 5,000 units as they were an MLM company who had zero interest in product development.

So, the company that built the 5,000 water cells had them sitting on a shelf for a long time. Eventually, a Japanese marketing company bought a few hundred machines but they stopped buying as well because of a number of problems with the machines.

A group of hydrogen fans in the USA ordered 4 of the machines near the end of 2015. They asked me to help them with testing and hopefully improving the machines as they were big believers in the technology. Being a sucker for testing and playing with machines, I gladly volunteered. The test machines were great at producing hydrogen, but there was a number of problems with the units which rendered them virtually useless. The easiest way to explain this would be to think of an engine in a car versus the entire car. In this example, the engine was good, but a number of items on the car were faulty (a bad transmission, faulty brakes, turn signals that didn’t work, etc.)

The hydrogen group consisted of engineers, technicians, and water guys and they started to work on the machines. Over the course of 7 months, they identified several problems and came up with solutions. That process might sound simple, but having witnessed and participated in the process, I can tell you that it is a lot more complicated than you would think. For every problem there are a myriad of possible factors or combination of factors to consider and test. Sometimes you get lucky and the solution comes easily, while other times, the exact opposite is true.

With a properly working machine in hand, a company (H2FX) was created by one of the hydrogen guys. While the machine was great, the fellow didn’t know much about marketing so he didn’t sell a lot of machines.

The number of hydrogen experts in America is a pretty small club. The people that really cared about the hydrogen technology introduced the H2FX guy to the Brilliantz folks who had an extensive background in direct selling. I joined the Brilliantz team as a Branch Affiliate because I believe so strongly in their technology and the honorable way they conduct themselves.

You mentioned that you see other machines appearing on the market that look like the HIM2. They do look the same, but until they put in the work on the machine to make them operate efficiently, they will likely continue to get bombarded by complaints from their customers. The problem began when the maker of the water cells (the engine) blew out their old inventory to a number of marketing companies for a big discount. You can’t blame the manufacturer of the water cells for doing what they did as the large stockpile of “dead money” inventory must certainly have been harming their business. The problem with littering the streets with discounted “engines” is that the marketing companies don’t have the desire or the expertise to build the rest of the car to go with it. I’m sure that the marketing companies will figure it out over time, but in the meantime it has been messy and I expect it will probably continue to be that way for awhile.

Buying new technology is always a bit scary. Trying to decide which brand to buy is even more difficult when a number of products appear to be similar. Thank you for pointing out your concerns as I’m sure there are more people who have the same concerns. At the very least, you are on the right track in terms of looking at hydrogen infusion machines instead of the old alkaline water technology which companies are trying to re-brand in a sorry attempt to pass themselves off as hydrogen machines.

          • Rob,

Thank you for the service you are providing to consumers and the water industry. Your work is truly going to change the health and lives of so many individuals.

I also appreciate your in-depth responses where they can be technical for those who need that, but is also simple to understand for individuals like me who are knew to understanding the water industry.

            Dave

  9. Hi Rob,
With my recommendation, my sister in the Philippines bought the H2fx last year before Brilliantz took over. Are these machines the same one? Also, since the water supply where she is might be questionable, do you recommend she get an RO system instead of relying solely on the H2fx filters?
    Thank you,
    Rose

    • Hi Rose:

Brilliantz is a direct selling group company that sells H2FX products as well as other products. The machines are the same.

People should always learn what is in their drinking water. That is the only way to know if the water is safe to drink and if specific filters will make the water safe to drink. While I’m not a fan of RO systems in most situations, particularly for municipally supplied water, there are situations where an RO system is advised.

  10. Hi

I have some questions about Hydrogenised water.
First, about HIM. Is it adviseable/preferable or at least possible to connect HIM direct after RO system. Or I should through away my RO system and just change it with HIM? I would like, to make HIM drink water previously cleaned with RO system, and me drink water after both of them)

What do you think about Hydrogen tablets. Which Brand is the best? There is a huge amount of them: H2Tablets from Brilliantz; I Love H2 from AlkaWay; AquaH2 Effervescent Hydrogen Tablets etc

    Thank you

  11. Any thoughts on the Echo® NHM-130 Hydrogen Infusion Machine. Looks similar, I am sure it is a quality product and their under sink one is much more expensive.

    • Hi Don:

I haven’t had a look at the Echo machine and I have no interest in the company.

I think Echo is a disgrace to the hydrogen community and has nothing but harm the industry in North America.

Echo made commitments to leaders in the hydrogen industry in North America in the early stages to gain credibility and then treated them like crap and hung them out to dry.

Echo has made numerous false claims about their machines and treated their Affiliates and Customers like dirt.

Maybe their new machines are OK (if they bothered to fix the problems associated with the first series of HIM machines) but I wouldn’t hold my breath as they never seemed too concerned with quality or performance.

Echo is run by a marketing guy who is good at marketing, but I wouldn’t touch the guy or the company with a 10 foot pole.

Maybe one day when I’m in a bad mood I will write about what I really think of Echo and its owner… what I wrote above is a collection of the best things I can say about the company. I first learned about Echo last year when I did some digging into the company (you can check out what I wrote at: http://http://www.waterfyi.com/featured/echoh2water-broken-promises-broken-hearts/)

  12. Hi Rob, I really like the idea of this product but have one question. I am switching to a filter because of the bpa leeching into the water from plastic bottled water.. It has wreaked havoc with my hormones, hence my need to change. Yet when I look at water filter products… They seem to have plastic parts which makes me super weary. Any thoughts on options for bpa free water?? Do you think this is a solution?

  13. I note that it produces 1.2 ppm hydrogen at 1 liter/minute. will it produce a higher concentration at a lower flow rate? How about 1/2 liter/minute which would be fine for me.

  14. What are you thoughts on Hyzen machines? I am still a little confused about the different generations of tech and how to spot what a certain machine uses. I understand that the best and latest tech doesn’t need plate cleaning?

  15. Hello

What do you think about Hydrogen tablets. Which Brand is the best? There is a huge amount of them: H2Tablets from Brilliantz; I Love H2 from AlkaWay; AquaH2 Effervescent Hydrogen Tablets etc

    Thanking you in advance

  16. Hi Rob,
I was wondering if the thread is still active, I see that the last 2 questions were posted over a year ago and haven’t been answered. My question is, I have just found the H2fx.com web site that seems to have a very similar machine as the HIM2 however it’s $500 cheaper, also their portable machine makes 500ml in 5 or 7 minutes with same ppm for the same price $300 with a 10% discount, the Brilliantz machine makes 350ml.
Are these machines the same or what is the difference?

    Regards,

    • Hi Jimmy:

I haven’t been spending any time on my blog for the past couple of years other than the odd comment. I have said all I had to say about alkaline water and hydrogen gas, so I have been enjoying being retired. I have actually thought about starting a blog about retirement as it is an adventure in its own right.

I don’t think H2FX sells anything as I see on their facebook page that they are only about education.

To the best of my knowledge, the HIM2 machine was taken over by Brilliantz.com which they sell for $2,000. The video that appears on the H2FX facebook page was made for the HIM2 machine as I remember when it first came out. You can save 26% off the retail price if you join Brilliantz as an “Influencer”, which is what I did when I wanted to buy the HIM3 machine a year or two ago. I have been really happy with the HIM3 btw.

  17. does the question still remain ,which technology to go for a him machine or a beads machine ?

  18. would you recommend the portable unit from Brilliantz? it seems to be a good starter unit because of the much lower point. But does it produce a hydrogen water comparable to the main unit? Thanks for the education. Just spent 4 hours on this blog.

    • Hi Komi:

The portable GO unit produces more than 2 times as much H2 as the HIM units if you press the button twice. It takes about 7 minutes for the GO to finish the cycle.

The GO doesn’t have filters so I would recommend that you use filtered water if possible. A simple and inexpensive under the counter filter system is a very cost effective and environmentally responsible method of filtering water.

      • Can we use RO water on the GO unit? Will it still have H2 in the water?

        Thanks,
        Jane

  19. Hi, I’d like to ask about the technology. How can the HIM allow the water to reach the anode drop by drop to be electrolyzed? As a the anode chamber is dry and facing the air while the cathode is submerged in water, and they are separated by the non permeable PEM.
