Confessions of a Brilliantz Salesman

I just got off the telephone with a reader from Arizona which prompted this article. It is not unusual for me to write articles after speaking with or replying to emails from readers. What is unusual, is the aha moment that took place for me during the call. At the end of the conversation, I said to the reader:

“geez, I sound like a salesman”

I heard a chuckle in the background and then reader laughed and said:

“That’s funny, I had you on speaker phone and my wife said exactly the same thing, but thanks for the great information”.

So, that is what it has come to…..Rob the water guy is now Rob the salesman. Now that is something I never expected to happen.

What made me decide to become a salesman?

In reality, I didn’t make a conscious decision to sell for Brilliantz, it just happened.

When I was growing up, my Dad was a medical doctor who disliked salesmen. He was not alone in that regard as a doctor because every drug rep made their way through every doctor’s office trying to sell the latest and greatest drug. In addition, an endless number of door-to-door salesman found their way into doctor’s offices because doctors had money and were an easy target. Those were the days when almost all of the doctors were men and they worked on their own or had their wives working as their receptionists. There was very little resistance for a professional salesman to overcome to get to the doctor.

Whenever my brother and I were out somewhere with my Dad and Dad was being pitched, he would always say “Fantastic”. My brother and I would start giggling because we knew that Dad was using the Fantastic word in place of BS which I now refer to as Bad Science.

Now you know why I have a very highly tuned internal BS meter and virtually zero tolerance for idiots that extol the virtues of products with little or no supporting evidence. I have a voracious appetite to learn, but please keep the BS to a minimum because it will only hurt your chances of convincing me.

I naturally try to blame my wife for as many of my shortcomings as possible. I’m only kidding as I learn more from my wife than from anyone else in my life. When it came to me developing a “sales pitch”, it was actually my wife who was responsible. She would complain that I should just get to the point rather than talking endlessly about the science. As usual, her well-meaning criticism was justified.

In order to save time, here is a quick summary of my hydrogen gas “H2” sales pitch:

1) Scientists have now completed over 700 studies/reviews showing that hydrogen gas (H2) has been identified as likely being beneficial in 170 human diseases and further studies are required.
2) While you can inhale hydrogen gas, Brilliantz is focused on H2 water products. When you drink hydrogen rich water, it moves from the stomach to the small intestines where the hydrogen is absorbed into the bloodstream. The hydrogen gas is a very weak antioxidant that only reacts to the most powerful and destructive free-radical (the hydroxyl radical). The hydrogen gas travels throughout the body in the blood minding its own business until it encounters a hydroxyl radical which it neutralizes on contact creating a harmless water molecule. If the hydrogen gas molecule doesn’t encounter a hydroxyl radical in its journey through the body, it gets expelled from the body via the lungs when you exhale.

What makes H2 so unique and special?

1) H2 is such a weak antioxidant that it only neutralizes the most powerful and dangerous free radical (hydroxyl radical) while other antioxidants neutralize all the “good” free radicals as well
2) the waste or byproduct of H2 reacting with the hydroxyl radical is water which is harmless while other antioxidants become potentially harmful species when they donate an electron to a free radical
3) the tiny size of H2 allows it to pass into cells and across the blood-brain barrier making it unique and extraordinarily valuable as the human body does not produce enough H2 on its own

Why did I choose to work with Brilliantz?

1) they focus on science and education and go to great lengths to distance themselves from Bad Science.
2) Brilliantz sells products that matter which the company carefully researches, tests, and compares to other products to make sure they are the best products available on the market
3) Brilliantz sells their products at the lowest prices on the market instead of jacking up the prices to pay the many layers of commissions required by MLM systems
4) When you sell something for Brilliantz, you get paid. You don’t have to reach unrealistic (for most) sales goals or jump through increasingly impossible hoops that MLM companies design to make you fail in order to channel the majority of the commissions into the hands of the owners and their top recruiters

My Dad may be turning over in his grave at the thought of me selling, but I can live with it. Spreading the word about great products that people should be using seems like a good thing to me.

  1. Rob,
I am glad that our conversation prompted this article. I just wanted to thank you for taking your time to talk to me over the weekend. You took the time to really explain to me how beneficial this is and steering me away from the BS. I hope we can talk again in the future. I continue to read medical articles on H2 so that I have references to back me up when talking to others about this. I talked to my doctor again and he did do a little research on this topic and he also looked at Brilliantz, he said if I get involved he would consider getting involved as well.

    Once again, thank you,
    Bob Olson

    • Hi Robert:

I enjoy sharing what I have learned with those that are interested in learning as well.

I spoke to a MD in California yesterday who contacted me about H2. She was referred to me by another MD. I expect that it will take awhile for the H2 story to gain acceptance in America but it is very encouraging that MD’s are opening up to the science behind H2. I have learned that H2 education is being incorporated at a leading medical school in Latin America and that acceptance and use of H2 products in the medical community in Latin America is way ahead of America.
