More than half of Americans drink bottled water, and more than one third of Americans drink bottled water on a regular basis.   Is that a good thing?  Yes and no.  Drinking water is definitely better than drinking a soda, but you are probably not drinking  the “pure” and healthy water that you think you are.

There are three significant reasons not to drink bottled water which include: health issues, the high cost of bottled water, and the environmental cost of bottled water.  Covering all three issues in one article… Continue reading

As I get older, it seems like more and more movie stars pass away.  I assume my perception is skewed because I’m simply more aware of the people that are passing away because of the personal memories that I have  of their performances.

I remember like it was yesterday watching Easy Rider with my high school friends and thinking that  Hopper and Fonda were so cool.  Just the mention of the name Dennis Hopper brings back so many memories.  I will miss him.

I get frustrated when someone dies from a disease like prostate cancer because I … Continue reading

I talk a lot about alkaline ionized water on this blog.   The entire water ionizer industry focuses on alkaline ionized water because of the incredible health benefits of drinking the water.  As a result, the benefits of the cleaning and disinfecting properties of the water often get overlooked.

When ionized water was first created for commercial purposes, the focus was on the acidic properties of the water.  In fact, the health approvals in Japan that you read about when researching ionized water are for the disinfecting properties of acidic… Continue reading

The National Post in Canada published an article today about what has happened, or more precisely, what has not happened since a deadly E.Coli outbreak in the town of Walkerton, Ontario in 2000.  You can read the article at: http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=3035272#ixzz0oFLcQ4gY Photo courtesy of: Carlo Allegri/National Post

The article serves as a good reminder that our water is not nearly as safe as your government would have you think.  For example, most of us believe that we are fortunate in North America to have great water.  However, you might… Continue reading

I have been pretty tough on the Enagic people and their Multi Level Marketing system.   I have discouraged people from getting involved with their marketing system, because of the fact that their products are about double the price of competitive products, and the wide variation in the level of knowledge of their representatives.

So why am I now praising Enagic and their dealers?  One of my goals for this blog is to encourage the water ionizer industry to be more responsible to the public.  That means offering better products and lower… Continue reading

My Dad was an “old school” medical doctor in Canada who believed that eating properly, exercising occasionally, getting enough rest, and staying away from prescription medicines, were the key elements to a healthy life.  In his day, prescriptions were viewed as a necessary evil to be used only in dire situations.  My father was my mentor and friend, and I had great respect for him.  It still amazes me so many years later, that he was so far ahead of his time when it came to his views about health and prescription drugs… Continue reading

You have finally convinced yourself that it is time to purchase a water ionizer.  Congratulations, you are now part of the less than 1% of people in Canada or the USA that are aware of the benefits that the machines provide. Now it should be easy… Right? …Wrong!

Like many others, you may have been introduced to the water by a Multi Level Marketing representative.  Perhaps you learned about the water from a friend, acquaintance, or family member.  Maybe you started researching online because you or a loved one is… Continue reading

Fibromyalgia is a pain…..literally.  It has been described to me by sufferers as “arthritis on steroids”.  The disease is not a killer, but it certainly makes life miserable for the six million people suffering from the disease in America.

Susan C. Eiguren, NC, provides a simple and good description of fibromyalgia and why it seems to “move around and cause pain everywhere” as follows:

” “Fibro” means connective tissue and “myalgia” means muscle pain. So fibromyalgia is a painful condition affecting the connective tissues of our muscles. If you… Continue reading

Coffee is the most common drug in America.  Fifty four percent of adult Americans drink coffee to the tune of 146 billion cups per year.

There is an interesting article on CNN tonight that brings to light some of the benefits of drinking coffee.  You can read the article written by Sarah Klein at: http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/04/28/coffee.studies/index.html?hpt=C2

Coffee has had a bad reputation in health circles for a long time. It is common knowledge that caffeine remains in your system for up to 12 hours, and can lead… Continue reading

Weight loss….the multi-billion dollar industry, and the subject on the minds of so many of us!

When did the overweight condition get to be so rampant in our society?  I remember as a child, that there were virtually no “fat” kids in school.  Today, obesity is everywhere in Canada and the USA.  In fact, childhood obesity has quadrupled in the last 20 years.

Television advertisements are telling us that there are 3 million Canadians with Type II diabetes, which means about 1 out of every 11… Continue reading

About this blog

My name is Rob Thomas. I’m 53 years old, retired, and I live in a small town near Toronto, Canada

I created this blog to share my knowledge and experience with alkaline ionized water. The water changed my life by eliminating my acid reflux and osteo-arthritis in 2008.

This blog morphed into something far greater than it was ever intended, as others began to share their experiences... learn more about me
