Cancer Society Says: Avoid Cancer

According to the Canadian Cancer Society, about one-third of all cancers are related to food and drink, body weight and physical activity.

Finally…..a cancer organization that is doing something proactive and sensible in the fight against cancer. It is just common sense to realize that the best way to beat cancer is to avoid getting cancer in the first place.

The number of cases of cancer continues to rise despite the fact that trillions of dollars have been spent on cancer research. Perhaps a different approach such as learning how to avoid getting cancer would be a more effective strategy.

I hope that the article linked below acts as a catalyst in changing public thinking about cancer. Doesn’t it make more sense to be proactive rather than hoping you won’t be a victim of cancer.

Since I’m a water guy, I was particularly happy to see the following recommendation:

Remind kids to drink fluids, preferably water, throughout the day.

Here is a link to the Toronto Star article which is based upon the recommendations made by the Canadian Cancer Society:

Still quiet here.sas
